Have you ever heard the story of the Jangsan Tiger? If you've lived in Busan, you've probably heard it at least once. I remember my grandmother telling me, 'If you go to Jangsan Mountain and hear someone calling for help, never answer them.' Because that voice asking for help... might be the Jangsan Tiger. It's the urban legend that Busan locals fear the most.
This story is really spine-chilling too. A friend who lived in Chungju once told me this kind of story. He was taking a night walk along the Dallae River when suddenly a young woman in white hanbok asked him for directions. No matter how you think about it, it's strange, right? Who would be by the riverside late at night wearing hanbok? So he approached to get a closer look, and it turned out to be the vengeful spirit of a woman who died waiting for her beloved at that very spot hundreds of years ago.
